Add search option 'from "via" to'. Like From "KRMarket" via "Rajarajeswari Dental college" to Gulagunjanahalli". Will help most for most of the people.

@Basavaraj:
As the search suggests, there is no direct route available from Doddakallasandra to ITPL. Please look up the route plan via intermediate bus stations in the "How" drop-down box.
@CA:
Thanks for the suggestion. You can achieve the same functionality by doing two searches using the Direct Routes Only metric. For your example, first do a search from K R Market to Rajarajeshwari Dental College and then do a search from Dental College to Gulagunjanahalli.

It is a good site to search buses and bus route. It will be good, if you can put approximate schedule time/frequency.

This is very informative search tool. This needs to reach the needy people who use BMTC buses regularly or otherwise. I've tried my bit by writing blog post at http://channabankapur.blogspot.com/2010/08/bengaluru-bmtc-bus-route-search.html
Thank you very much for developing such a search tool.
Thanks,
Channa

Thanks, Rahim, Channa, Lohith, MD.
Hari,
Please search the bus routes for your locations in the search box provided above using any of the methods listed in the "How" dropdown box. I found several two-hop routes for your source and destination points.

A suggestion. Make "Minimum Number of Hops" as default selection in "How" combo box. For someone searching for a route which doesn't have a direct route shouldn't be said "no routes available" on default search. Anyway "Direct Routes" is clearly a subset of "Minimum hops" search and all the direct routes are in the top of your result because that's the min hop!
I think this will improve user experience especially people like Basavaraj and Hari who may not have observed "How" filter in the first place.

Good suggestion. Actually another friend had given the same feedback to me last week. I've done the change now.

Many people have asked the same information about bus timings. As I have mentioned in point (6) under Tips for searching, the timing information is not very accurate. More importantly, I don't have a good source of timing information that can be maintained going forward.
Which is better:
(a) Put up timing information that may be out-dated, inaccurate and incomplete, or
(b) Not put up incorrect information that can be misleading to people
I'd like to hear more opinions about this point. If there are people who can volunteer to actively correct and add to the timing information, I'm more than willing to introduce the feature.

this is good. But it will be best if there is any provision for the distance b/w the two destinations and also the ticket charge

I came across your site after you left a comment on my blog. First off thanks a lot for visiting my blog.
Secondly, I would like to know the timing details also for a route number. Currently I was not able to find that out.

@Mahantesh:
Sorry, I don't have the distance data. Regarding the ticket charge, a rough rule of thumb is Rs.2 per km for ordinary services, and Rs.4 per km for Volvo services after a certain minimum distance which I'm not able to remember (as of now, at least).
@Ashithraj:
Thanks for the comment. Please see my earlier comment (two above yours) about the timings
@Govindraj:
Thanks for the comments.

A very useful site. Kudos for the initiative.
We understand the unreliability of timing info.
I am bookmarking this site now itself as well as advising it to my friends.
Another site i found useful is http://www.yulopindia.com/bmtc//index.php/bus/route_search
